I am constantly amazed at the tender nature of my wife’s heart. She has just informed me that she must away to Longbourne after hearing of the majority of her family having taken ill and being stuck in bed. I’m sure they will appreciate a more friendly and loving face than that of their servants to wait on them in their time of need. As much as it pains me to be away from my Jane, I believe it will only increase my affection towards her for when she returns in a week or so, and perhaps seeing her family will inspire her with new ideas about the ball that we are planning. I encourage you all to send her inquiries, but she may not answer them until her return home, for I fear she will be quite busy tending to her family.

My Dear Husband, I have been thinking of Lydia's situation. What a wonder it is to think that my little sister will soon have a child. I hope have been thinking about her and I wonder, could you spare me for a while to help her? If she desires my help, I would like to go to her. In regards to the ball, why not have a Christmas ball?

As much as it pains me to apart from you, my angel, I understand how your little sister will need you right now. I just hope that you will not find Wickham to be too bothersome. As for the ball, I think that would be a splendid occasion. I do hope it snows. As they say, I am dreaming of a white Christmas.

Dear Charles, I hope you and Jane made it to Netherfield safely? I miss both your company immensely. How are you, dear brother? It rained the whole day today. I had the thought to go for a walk around the grounds anyway, but decided against it, knowing my husband would not be pleased. Especially if I caught cold. I remember when Jane went to visit Netherfield the first time. I would not have liked to be sick like her at that time. Thus I had a droll day inside. I hope all is well with you.

Thank you for inquiring Lizzy, we have made it safely back. I regret that I took so long to answer you, for I have been in London on business for the past few days. Jane and I are both splendid- however, we miss both you and your dear husband. I, too, remember when Jane visited for the first time- she was gorgeous evern when feeling under the weather. Ah, and now I’m letting my emotions get ahead of me. I hope and and Fitzwilliam are well and that your days get less droll.

I would like to take a small moment to acknowledge the significance of today. Though I am a fictional character, I do know of the tragedy that occurred ten years ago today. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families of the innocent people and heroes who lost their lives in the terrible attack on the World Trade Centers in America. My heart aches for all of you. May God’s peace be with each and every one of you.

Leaving Pemberly

Today Jane and I will be departing Pemberly after a month of fine company. We will miss Lizzy and Fitzwilliam, but I fear Jane’s Mama is anxious to see both of us, and that Jane and I are both a little homesick. Perhaps, when we return home, we will stop losing each other so frequently. I hope you will all continue to call on us at Netherfield!
